My research interests include immigrant integration, ethnic politics, multiculturalism and assimilation, quantitative and mixed methods. My PhD dissertation focuses on the impact of immigrant integration strategies in EU member states. European integration policies vary along a number of dimensions: mandatory and voluntary, multicultural and assimilationist, targeted at immigrants as a specific group and more generic or mainstreamed. My study aims to examine which of these policies are more conducive to integration, and why.

My other research explores the relationship between multiculturalism policy development and the level of residential and social self-segregation of white population in Europe.
